The End of An Era for a Great One
The end of an era
The Homecall of a legend
He closed his eyes
and he embarked on the Journey
That long journey that would be successful
That long journey that would
be very successful
Like a Colossus
He strode the earth.
He was a maestro
An inspiration
An enigma
The end of an age
The exit of a Monarch
He closed his eyes
and his history began to unfold
That marvellous history that
would heal the land
That marvellous history that
would heal the land greatly.
Like a Colossus
He strode the earth
He was a maestro
An inspiration
An enigma
The end of an era
The departure of a Poet-King.
He closed his eyes
And the stories began to be told
Those inspirational stories
Those stories that build up
and encourage
Those stories that would
motivate our generation greatly.
That Fateful Day
It was a fateful day
The 13th of February
A day to go down in the annals
A day to be etched in the memory of loved ones
When the Great One answered the call of the Greater One!
It was a fateful day
The 13th of February
He woke early, engaged early
Was alert and bright to prepare for the departure
To his home above, to his Father in Heaven
It was a fateful day
The 13th of February
I went early, prayed and anointed the Great One
A privilege granted the Messenger of God
An assignment, Divinely fulfilled,
to prepare the Great One
It was a fateful day
The 13th of February
Angels hovered already, eager to escort the Great One
Who was prepared for the journey, the Journey,
the very long journey home
A very successful journey, he
proclaimed to eternal glory.
It was a fateful day
The 13th of February
Prayers galore, gospel music
heralding the exit of the
Great one
The last supper as an only meal, on an empty stomach and
luggage light on the straight
and narrow path It was a fateful day The 13th of February Checked spiritually and mentally,
pronounced fit and good to
go, by Family, Pastor, and Doctor.
He determined to go gloriously, peacefully and royally
Amidst peace and calm, in glory and grace.
It was a fateful day
The 13th of February.
Oh, what a day!
Oh, that I would have known,
To steal a last hug, a last Kiss
a last blessing of the Great One
But he kept his word, waited
till the Beloved returned
And then, with a final breath
closed his eyes, and went
Home to be with the Greater One.
