TRIBUTE TO MY GREAT DADDY
My dearest daddy! Daddy of all Daddies!! Enjoyment Daddy!!!
Guess I’m the last of the children to write my tribute. I have been numb since your passing, and it’s been difficult to put words together. It is still very unreal to me. A day I wish never came, but then it’s inevitable.
Death came stealthily and stole my father, Counselor, Mentor, Hero, Literary Icon, Educationist, Father to all and my King. Maybe we were too naïve to understand your language when you informed us that you were embarking on a long, successful journey.
I began to face the reality of your death that it could be true when I was told I needed to write a tribute to my father. I have so much to say to you, but how can I do that now when words have evaded me?
Your wisdom, an extensive collection of intellectual prowess and strict principles has been my guiding light as I navigate through different stages of life. You taught me hard work, discipline, integrity, and to live happily with people, as portrayed in one of your poems:
Live Two Lives
Live two lives,
Live your own
And live your neighbours.
That is what you need
To be your brother’s keeper
That is all you need
To keep the world at peace.
This, the bottom line of all human rights.
To clear the clot of strife
And aches and pain in the human brain.
Live two lives
You were the most disciplined, sincere, transparent, and hardworking man I knew – a lover of God, gentle in nature. Every time spent with you was learning time.
You provided virtually everything we needed even when the odds were against you and wouldn’t let us go to anyone for help. You taught me how to be self-reliant. You made me understand that hard work and dedication pay in the end. You will tell me: He who does not work should not eat.
You stood by the truth, always, no matter the circumstances. Your truthful disposition to matters earned you the respect of many. I always chose the path of truth, which has never failed me, Daddy. Transparency was like a second skin to you, which you passed on to your children.
I was in high heavens when you came to Abuja for treatment when your health was failing because I knew my daughters were about to have the utmost closeness to their granddad. And then, you passed. Ebidise kept asking me about Granddaddy and running to your room and everywhere to spend time with you.
My heart is heavy…
Our consolation is that you are resting in the bosom of God. I take solace that we will meet again one day to part no more. You have left a vacuum that can never be filled again.
Daddy, I thank God for your life. You lived a life of generosity, kindheartedness, dignity, and love. You lived a good life.
Keep resting, my enjoyment Daddy!!!
Your daughter,
Amabeke Akasah (C16)

TRIBUTE TO MY FATHER – INLAW
Your life on earth was a blessing. You have touched so many lives in your lifetime. You were more than a father-in-law. And I am happy to be a part of your blessed family.
A poet king, a teacher, and an advocate of speaking the truth and standing by it.
A King who loved God and was full of wisdom.
You understood the place of thanksgiving as a Christian, earmarked a day for family thanksgiving, and never failed to thank God on that day.
We love you, but God loves you the most.
May you enjoy your stay in the realm, and may your soul rest in peace, Amen.
Abozi Akasah (Husband to C16)
TRIBUTE TO MY GRANDDADDY
Granddaddy, granddaddy, my dear granddaddy.
Oh! Why did you have to go? I miss you. We all miss you. I remember all the good times we had together as a family. I heard of your passing and couldn’t hold back my tears. I am so pained. I remember how you always loved us, and you gave us gifts:
Guess it’s now all the memories I will cherish forever. I will never forget them.
Rest in peace, my dear granddaddy. I love you.

MY GRAND FATHER
Dear Granddaddy, I hate that you died. I wanted you to live everlasting life here with us. I remember all our time together in Tombia and Abuja, and I am grateful to God. But I wish you were still here, I will be more grateful. Rest in peace as you are in heaven, being an angel of the Lord and not worshipping satan. I love you.

MY GRANDDADDY
I miss my granddaddy. I always play with my granddaddy’s hat and walking stick. I used to feed my granddaddy when he was eating.
But mummy says you are in heaven.
I will see you in heaven, Amen!
